Lampwork Bead of the Day for Tuesday, May 10th

Sorry for a fast post & run today, but it was a really busy day (and still is).
So without much ado, here is my pick for today's lampwork bead of the day:


These colorful and fun beads are called "Solar Flare" and are made by by Michelle of Sun Door Beads.

I'm in love with the bold color combination of oranges, yellows, coral reads and sea green. And I admire the intricate stringer & dot decoration. Fabulous!

Fire Divas Gossip Column!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's, Grandmother's and Mom's-to-be, also those special ladies that open their hearts to children even when they could not have any of their own! I made my own mother a very special necklace for Mother's Day and I love that she will have a special memory that will last her a lifetime!
I was peeking around at what our Divas (and some fellow Mommies!) have been up to and remembering that most of us make glass in addition to be full time Moms/Grandmas, hold down jobs, and running a household!!! Lets take a look at what these busy Divas have been creating or sharing!

Sharon Driscoll of Right Turn Artwerks is definitely a woman on a tool mission! This will be so useful for my future tool buying and making :) Who says Mom's can't enjoy tools???

Holly of Holly's Folly Bead and Jewelry definitely will make some Mom smile when they see the adorable cupcake bead on their child's special necklace or bracelet from Beads Of Courage! I know these Moms really appreciate what you are doing!

Judith Billig of Icarus Beads will get to enjoy a wonderful retreat with her glassy buddies! That sounds like a great Mommy's Day Out to me!!! Go check out her post on all her wonderful happenings!!!

Lori Bergmann of Ashlyn Design has a great new beaded necklace style that she has been designing around her awesome beads! Hubbies Hint: These make gorgeous Mommy's Day Gifts!!!

This blog post is near and dear to me! Rosemarie Hanus of Spawn of Flame shows off her photo challenge of gorgeous round beads. It reminds me of something special my Mom would do for us so we could the beautiful sunsets just a little longer :) Thank you Rosemarie for that gorgeous photo!

Fantasy Shopping Saturday

Tomorrow is probably my favorite day of the year.  A chance to show my mother how important she is to me and... a chance for my children to do the same.  It's the one day of the year, that expressly belongs to those who have given birth, inherited, or adopted children.  It belongs to those who love unconditionally, and would give the ultimate sacrifice. And it belongs to a group that goes unnoticed.  Those who have not given birth, but have loved, sacrificed and given a "Mother's Love" to a rescued puppy or kitten, cared for the sick and the shut in, and those that need a wink, a hug, or a simple smile.  To all of you, I wish you the best Mothers Day ever!  And my gift to you is this "Visual Card" from the Fire Divas!

Glass Bead of the Day - 5/6

I've had a thing for heart beads forever! They were the first glass beads I bought...I just loved that hearts could be a stand alone piece. A fabulous bead you can toss on your favorite chain and out the door you go...into the world with a little love around your neck to keep you safe and warm.

This heart is just my style: colorful and gorgeous!

Fire Divas Gossip Column!

This certainly has been an eventful weekend for me! The Royal Wedding has captured my attention to it's fullest (something that is not easy I might add). I am a self professed Anglophile and I was so drawn to many of the "fashions" of the Wedding! Now to say the least, some guests definitely pushed the boundaries of high fashion...... I will not name drop I am sure everyone has their own "WOW" moment in mind. It did get me thinking though of the wonderful ways that glass can impact fashion, after all we make high end beads used in fashion jewelry. So I went on a mission to find out what fashionable endeavors our Divas have been up to- who knows when one of our beads will be seen on the neck, wrist, or ears of someone famous!

I could not help but be as captivated by this blog post from Kathleen of Ugly Duckling Beads as she was. Red is such a royal and commanding color! Anyone of those beads would look stunning on Royalty!

Now through my wanderings I also stumbled upon a great new fashion idea from Susan Lambert Glass and Silver Jewelry. Rustic Punk is definitely in and her idea for using up those beads we all have is quite intriguing! Check it out!!

Our newest Diva Abigail of Abbielyn Glass definitely has a piece worthy of recognition! As she puts it on her FanPage on Facebook "I'm so very happy with how this piece came to be.
