The first spring flowers are showing here, the birds are looking for mates and my cat has gone quite crazy. Spring is here!

Now I long for joyful colours and patterns. Like in this set from Susan Lambert:

Glass Bead of the Day: Monday, January 2nd

Wow, can you believe this is the first Bead of the Day for 2012?  Don't worry, it's the first of many, MANY beads of the days coming your way in 2012! :)  Today's bead is this gorgeous raku heart by Susan Lambert:

The swirling colors and luscious variety on this heart bead make it a fantastic focal, especially with February just around the corner.  The hole actually runs through the lobes horizontally, so check out the listing for other views so you can see the horizontal elegance of this heart bead.  See what else Susan has melting up in her Etsy shop here.

Don't forget, the Fire Divas are busy at work every day (or at least every week!) making new goodies, pushing the artistic boundaries of lampwork and glass art.  Visit the ArtFire and Etsy chat threads to say "hi" and see what's fresh this week.  Thanks for reading!

Glass Bead of the Day: Monday, December 26

Today's bead is something that really strikes a chord for many of us, especially since we are just hours away from the most wasteful consumer holidays of the year... This is a recycled Coca Cola Bottle Pendant by Susan Lambert:

This beautiful pendant is made of recycled glass from a Coca Cola bottle, and is actually quite enchanting in addition to being recycled. :)  Susan has an Etsy shop full of good stuff, so please check out Susan Lambert's Etsy Shop.

Bead of the Day 9-29-11

Today's bead of the day is this wonderful disc bead from Susan Lambert. I really like how she has created the swirled design. Disc beads are fun focal points in pendant or necklaces and would like really cool as a button on a fiber project like a purse. Check out all the cool beads in her shop.

Lampwork Bead of the Day: Monday, August 29th

Happy Monday!  It's still HOT in large parts of the country, but very WET and rainy in others... in line with the crazy weather we're having lately, please take a moment to enjoy this earth-inspired bead by Susan Lambert:

Lampwork bead focal lentil shaped Earthview - by Susan Lambert

This focal bead has a ton of variety and detail, and if you know anything about my usual choices for Bead of the Day, you probably know that I LOVE detail like this, especially ones that are impossible to duplicate!  A little of this, a pinch of that, some glass dust, crackly turquoise-colored glass, and a very earthy back; this bead has it all.  It make me think of what a primitive view of the earth might have been by (very creative!) ancient civilizations. :)  Susan has more gorgeous beads (though you won't find another one exactly like this no matter where you look!) in her Etsy shop, so please hop on over there to browse around and get your daily lampwork fix.  She also participates in the Bead of the Day discount, which means whomsoever purchases this bead can get 10% off it for the next 24 hours only! Convo her on Etsy prior to checkout. :)

Glass Bead of the Day 6-9-11

This lovely bead and pendant is made by Susan Lambert, the bead is a a Large Hole Focal Lampwork Bead Lined and Capped:

This bead is large, with a base of ivory with black scrollwork done all around it. She has lined it with silver and copper findings and that really helps set off the colors in the bead.

According to Susan "his bead is going to a gallery next week, so this is the last week it will be on Etsy!"

Glass Bead of the Day for Monday, April 25th, 2011

First, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and that the weather can be this nice in other parts of the country and world.  Second, let's check out today's pick for Bead of the Day, shall we?

Today's bead is made by Susan Lambert, and currently resides in her Etsy shop.  It is a Large Hole Focal Lampwork Bead Lined and Capped:

This bead is large, with a base of ivory and greenish scrollwork done all around it.  The hole is large on this bead, making it usable for many things.  The way Susan has chosen to display this bead is very unique, as she hammered the copper on this tab to create a stopper below a double chain.  Susan has more lovely work in her shop, so please stop on by.

Glass Bead of the Day - 3-4-11

These cheerful orange and silver ivory beads caught my eye for today's Bead of the Day. It has been very grey and rainy here lately, so anything bright is catching my eye. Check out Susan's shop for more lampwork beads and jewelry supplies.
