We are a group of glass bead artisans promoting the use of handmade lampwork beads. We believe that by promoting one another's work, we all benefit. Feel free to look around and check the links on the right to view our shops and photos. There is some tremendous talent in this group and we hope you visit often to check out our latest work!

Lori from Loribeads says she's been making pandora beads left and right. Her shop is filling up with these gorgeous little treasures, and this Silver Lined Ekho Window Bead is no exception. This dreamy bead is super shiny and has magnifying dots to create a dramatic, mirror-like shine.

This is the last Monday of 2009! This bead looks, to me, like the streamers and fun of a New Year's Eve party! The dark night behind a party of color! I love, love, love Tera's beads and this one is no exception. Find that beautiful bead here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=36012601

The holidays are over and the year is winding down, but the Fire Divas are still busy making glass treasures. Find out what else they've been up to in this week's gossip:
Holly continues to be a busy elf, and even made something for herself!
Marcy shows you what kind of dessert $750 will buy you, but take her advice and spend your money elsewhere (like in her Etsy shop!).
Eileen shares her Amish Friendship Bread recipe, but she also shows you how you can get the same good smells of baking in your house without even turning on your oven (I've tried it and it works!).
We have a couple new fur baby additions to our household, and I show them off over at Maybeads.
The Fire Divas hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Don't forget to vote in our holiday bead challenge ------------------------>
Today's Bead of the Day is this large hole bead made by Giapet on Etsy. She has a wide variety of glass art, ranging from candles holders to goddess's to jewelry!
This fun and bright Bumpy Rainbow bead by JanelDudleyBeads is the highlight of this ready-to-wear necklace. It would make a wonderful gift!
For more goodies from the Fire Divas, check out our weekly Etsy thread. And don't forget to vote in our weekly bead challenge! ---------------------------------->
This is the cutest little dachshund in a Christmas sweater ever!!! I wish I had a sweater like this for my real dachshund. I love Lauren's beads and this one is a good example of why I love them so much. It is cute, whimsical and just so much fun.
To celebrate the holiday season, the Fire Divas are hosting a Holiday Challenge! We have lots of wonderful beads to choose from; see them below, then pick your favorite to vote for on the right. Happy Holidays!
The clock is ticking and the shopping days are dwindling down. If you need a break from shopping, sit back and enjoy the blog posts from our very own Fire Divas.
Janel, Lara and Lea are revealing the gorgeous lampwork prizes for the Fire Divas' Introductory Jewelry Challenge. If you are making jewelry with artisan lampwork beads, snap a photo of your creation and enter it into the Challenge. You can see the entries to date here on Flickr.
Holly has been a busy little elf and her clients will be receiving some sweet treats. Mmmm.
Marcy is starring in her own version of "Myth-Busters," and has already debunked a favorite holiday story.
The studio over at Vedas Beads has never been cleaner - check out the results of 2 days of cleaning and organizing.
Silver River Jewelry has extended the sale in her ArtFire shop to, well, read her blog to find out!
Another great sale extension is announced over at Eileen's blog, and this one involves her brother shop.
Two weeks ago, Lori of Loribeads posted pictures of the new murrini blends she has been creating with her murrini partner, Kim. This week over at Maybeads, I show off my murrini purchase and what I found on Etsy for a 13-year-old boy.
Today, the last Saturday before Christmas, we're going to do a quick and quiet fantasy shopping trip ~ I know you are all busy, busy, busy right now ~ so today we'll just look at the pretties!
There are so many more wonderful beads made by Fire Divas members! Since this is a quick and quiet shopping trip I'll stop for now. From all of the Fire Divas ~ May you have a joyous Holiday Season and a happy and prosperous New Year!
Just a week away from Christmas I had to find some fun Christmas beads for today's Bead of the Day. I found these super cute Christmas Cookie Beads by Holly from HollysFollyGlass.
These would make the perfect pair of earrings! Amber Glow, by DorsetHillBeads, is just the right shade for the holidays. With simple details of raised dots and scrolls in dark amber, these beads have been etched for a perfect satin sea glass effect. Stunning!
For more from the Fire Divas, follow our weekly Etsy Thread.
Today's bead of the day is from StudioMarcy and I have to say that Lauren the Christmas Bunny makes my heart melt. She's soooo adorable. I want to hug her and squeeze her and call her George.

And also take a look at our weekly promo thread in the Etsy forums when you get a chance.
The Fire Divas First Jewelry Challenge is underway. We have some lovely entries made with artisan lampwork beads already and more to come, I'm sure!
You may find a few Diva jewelry pieces in there. Those are only there for inspiration. No Diva will be in the final voting pool. This is strictly to encourage the use of artisan made beads and expose work of talented designers out there!
There are also several bead photos in the gallery. Why are there just beads in there??? They are some of the fantastic prizes!!! Let's take a look at what the designers are playing for:
Lea of LAJewelryDesigns has donated a $50 Gift Certificate. Winners choice!!!
Lara of Lutrick has also created a stunning focal. I think that's the chalcedony glass that she makes sing featured on this bead:
Our sweet Janel of JanelDudleyBeads is a dichro master! Check out these pretty fireballs:
Lauren of MayBeads is donating one of her famous turtles. Just check out those toes!
Theresa of TeaseBeads is offering one of her "Everything" focals in a rich color palette:
Barb of RiversEdgeGlass has a whole set of her wave beads in gorgeous cool colors:
Jamie of GlasstasticTreasures has created one of her adoreable squiggle focals in purple and pink:
I'm offering a gift certificate for $50.00 to Holly's Folly to allow the winner to pick something they would like. Ema of EmaKaye has created one of her intense and precise dotted focals.
With all these fantastic beads for a prize, I hope we'll be seeing even more entries before our 1/01/2010 deadline.
There are only 11 more shopping and crafting days until Christmas! That means you are really cutting it close (like most of us), but still have time to get lampwork for using for your gift giving needs. And if you are making jewelry with artisan lampwork beads, you should snap a photo and enter it into the Fire Divas inaugural jewelry challenge! You can see the entries to date at the Fire Divas Jewelry Challenge Flickr group.

Today's bead of the day is from RiversEdgeGlass. This set of beads in amber is just facinating. The meandering stringer around the beads really makes this set of beads beautifully mesmirizing.
There are only 18 more shopping and crafting days until Christmas! That means there is still plenty of time make jewelry using artisan lampwork beads. And if you are making gifts with artisan lampwork beads, you should snap a photo and enter it into the Fire Divas inaugural jewelry challenge! You can see the entries to date at the Fire Divas Jewelry Challenge Flickr group.
On to the GOSSIP!
Eileen will be selling her beads at a bazzar in the Owings Mills area today and would love to meet some of her readers!
Fire-n-Sand had a cyber Monday sale and blogged about the jewelry challenge that all of you should totally enter.
Over at Glass Addictions, I am having the "I want a party sale". If you want details of this awesome sale, better stop by and see how much you can potentially save.
Holly experiences a violent end to a glass bead (not pretty!). Please shield the eyes of young children and those with weak stomachs.
Over at Playing with Fire, Laurie is sick of being told where to buy what at what price by big box retailers and gives a great explanation of how to shop from local artisans.
Maybeads has lots of fun reading and photos this week! Knock knock jokes, frogs, cats and dogs living in harmony....it must be the end of the world! Go read before it all ends.
Marcy always has crazy things going on. Today she's contemplating sky diving while doing a mushroom study....hmmm...
Not enough gossip for ya? Then head on over to read the weekly etsy thread where we discuss all kinds of fun things.
It has been super cold at my house this week so I wanted to choose a bead that captured this chilliness. This First Frost bead by Eileen of DorsetHillBeads was perfect. It is a lovely aqua colored glass with Dichro sparkles. Check out more of Eileen's beads and the rest of the Fire Divas' beads at our weekly promo thread on Etsy.
