Saint Valentine's Day, (which was shortened to Valentines Day), a celebration held annually on February 14 commonly commemorated love and affection between intimate companions in early history. It was traditionally a day on which lovers expressed their love for each other by giving flowers, candy, and greeting cards ( now known as "valentines"). Today Valentines day has a broader appeal. We give Valentines to our parents, close friends, our children....anyone we want to acknowledge that they are special to us. We don't limit "valentines" to what was given in the past. Any number of other gifts can be given, i.e., jewelry and dinner, My suggestion for this year, take a peak at the sales and donations that some of the Fire Divas are having/giving and treat yourself to a valentines gift!
