Janel is a tireless cheerleader for all the Divas...she often plugs our stuff and forgets to plug her own! That sunny smile of hers comes shining through in all she does!
Janel's lampworking studio is located in Boulder City, NV the home of the Hoover Dam and just over the hill from "Lost Wages," NV. But she was actually born and raised in Yuma, AZ and has a
lot of fond memories of horses, canals, crops of oranges and dates and lot's of family get togethers in the desert.
She got bitten by the lampworking bug in 1997 abut says she was only able to do it off and on with sometimes going up to a year between torch sessions! Janel calls those times "pure torture!"
Janel claims to not have a distinctive style but I would beg to differ. I'm mesmerized by her amazing eyeball beads:
Check out this stunning necklace she made with all eye murrini!
All of the eye murrini were hand pulled before she made the beads with multiple murrini and cased in clear!
Janel does admit to LOVING casing beads in lots of clear glass and as you can see from the sets, earrings and those eye beads, it's a technique she has mastered well!
Additionally, Janel has a passion for reactive and sparkly glasses and in the coming posts we'll see more of her beautiful beads.
Check in next Friday for part two where we will discuss all things glass! In the meantime, here's links to all things Janel:
